Radio Haslar has won 'Best
Community Programme' at the 2009 Express FM awards beating
off competition from Express FM's own volunteering show and
Help The Aged. The
award ceremony took place on Wednesday 13th May and
recognises the achievements of Express FM presenters and
programmes. The
Hospital Radio Takeover is unique in that it is simulcast
around the wards of the Gosport War Memorial on Radio Haslar
and also around the entire Portsmouth area on 93.7 Express
FM every Tuesday evening, with a 1 hour Request programme 8pm
- 9pm with
Howard
Hale and 1 hour of music old and new 9pm - 10pm with
Ian
McGuiness. This
is the first time that Radio Haslar has won, and
presenters of the Hospital
Radio Takeover,
Ian McGuiness and
Howard Hale were on
hand to receive the award from 'Radio God' and former
Radio Victory/Ocean Sound presenter/Programme Controller,
Chris Carnegy.

Radio Haslar would like to say a Big
Congratulations and Thank You to everyone involved with the
HRT Shows, both on-air
and behind the scenes.
