Yo.!, I have been involved with Hospital Radio for many years starting at Portsmouth Hospital Broadcasting, leaving there to start Radio Haslar with fellow co-founder and good friend Chris Pearce.

Having originally presented The Lunchtime Express on Saturdays I moved to the USA for 12 months, but it wasn't long before I got the calling from Radio Haslar once again and I was soon back.

These days my work consists of designing and maintaining the Radio Haslar website, looking after the Radio Haslar email system and other I.T related issues as well as presenting 'Sunday Bruch' every Sunday 11 till 1

Di Henshall - Honorary Member

Hello, Di Henshall, I was the treasurer for Radio Haslar for many years and enjoyed my job very much.  I also presented 'Tea for Two' on Wednesday afternoons, mainly 50's and sometimes a few 60's.  Each week withour fail we had one Glen Miller, that was a must, with a possible occasionally classical one.  A real general programme which I did enjoy and hope the patients in both hospitals did as well.

I remain a life long member of Radio Haslar but no longer take any active roles since moving away from the area, but I will still be keeping my eye on things, checking to make sure they are spending their pennies wisely.

Ian McGuiness - Presenter
Hi, i'm Ian. I present the first part of the HRT on Radio Haslar and 93.7 Express FM every Tuesday evening. The show features the best in new music plus some classic 80s and 90s tracks. We also keep you up to date with some Gosport/Fareham events and the latest from Gosport Football Club.
I have been at Radio Haslar for years now... its a good way to do something within the community and have alot of fun too!

Roger Gozney - Presenter

I have been with various hospital radio stations, as I have moved around for the last 20 years, I have also been with BFN in Germany.

My musical preference is Country and my passion in life is sport, especially football.

You can catch me every Wednesday afternoon 2 till 5 with 'Down Memory Lane'

Roger Key - Presenter

I joined Radio Haslar because my son was doing a theatre course at Fareham College, he came to have a look at the station and liked it.  While he was looking round I thought I could do this too so I joined and have been here ever since.

I started like many others doing a request show and then graduated to my own show when the War Memorial opened up.  Back then I presented a Friday evening show and have ended up for the past 5 years presenting Haslar at the Box Office, Thursday nights have never been the same since.

Maria Slight - Presenter

Hi, I'm Maria and I am a presenter on Thursday evening requests along with Rachel and James.

As well as being a presenter on hospital radio, I also enjoy Martial Arts, Jujitsu and of course music, which is why I joined the station.  I have been to several festivals and have a wide circle of friends.

My profession is a chef and I work in Hilsea at the moment, but always looking for a new challenge.

Tammy Murray - Presenter

Hi there, well I present Sunday Requests with the rest of the team, it's great fun and I enjoy meeting and talking to the patients we broadcast to and it's good to know that we make a difference to their lives while they are in hospital, seeing their smiles makes it all worth while.

I want to be an actress so decided to give radio a go as well, and a good decision it was too.

Tony Ashcroft - Presenter & Station Director

I started broadcasting in 1995 with Lincoln Hospital Radio.  I've been involved with various other stations since then, such as Airshow FM, Siren FM and most recently at Lyneham Radio.

I present ‘The Cheerful Earful' every Wednesday evening from 7-9pm.  This show celebrates the very best of music from the 1970’s onward and always includes a few tunes that seem to have disappeared from the playlists of larger radio stations!  However, there will always be room in the show to include any requests you might have.  Talking of which, the request shows are the ‘bread and butter’ of this radio station and we enjoy playing your favourite songs on the air.  We have found that patients have a wide variety of musical tastes and Radio Haslar takes great pride in playing all of your favourite songs, no matter how diverse they are or when they were first released.  We have a well stocked record library with plenty of records and cds, so we should be able to find something suitable!

Raising the necessary funds to keep Radio Haslar on-air is always high on the list of priorities.  As you can see from our events page, we are always out and about in the local area broadcasting music and interviews with local people.  These ‘Outside Broadcasts’ are often combined with collections, and we are always grateful for the donations we receive from members of the public.

Marion Hamill - Presenter

Hello, I've been around Royal Hospital Haslar for quite some time having worked there about six times in my career.

I present easy listening programmes on Monday and Tuesday afternoons, mostly from the 50's and 60's.  I also like to include a comedy slot because in my book, laughter is one of the best medicines

John Ward - Senior Engineer

John Ward here, I've been here almost the entire time Radio Haslar has been on-air.

My role at Radio Haslar as engineer involves maintaining output of the station and conducting repairs if and when they are required which keeps me busy. As well as that I also present 'Anything Goes' on a Monday afternoon from 2-4pm playing plenty of those Big Band classics such as Dick Haynes and the Cliff Adams Singers to name but a few.

Howard Hale - Presenter

I have been with Radio Haslar for more years than I am going to let on..

You can catch me every 'Other' Sunday afternoon 4 till 6 for listeners at Haslar with 'Easy Does It' and Tuesday request as part of HRT, 9 till 10pm on Radio Haslar and 93.7 Express FM.

See you there, or be less than spherical..!

  Neil Blanks
Hi, I'm Neil Blanks. I've been at Radio Haslar for over seven years and have been responsible for many unusual shows over the period, including ones concerning the Eurovision Song Contest, if one dares to admit that.

My current show goes out between 2pm and 4pm on Sundays and concentrates on a Theme which varies week to week. It could be Eurovision one week, the War Years the next, a decade like the 70's, the 80's or the 90's the next, comedy the next, or I could concentrate on one artist, like The Andrews Sisters. I don't know why, I just like their style of music and that's enough for me.

I'm into all styles of music and can play anything from classics to very unusual songs that very rarely gets played on any radio station.

  Philip Wilson

Please contact the show if you have some local sport you want covered as we regularly interview people from all areas of sport in the local community to keep our listeners abreast of all the latest sporting activities available to them.

Keep smiling'
