Events & Outside Broadcasts 2010

It's the start of another busy fundraising year, here at Gosport's Radio Haslar and we kick things off at Morrisons, Walpole Road in Gosport on Saturday 13th March.

We will be at the store between 8.30am and 3.30pm with our team of collectors.

All monies collected will go towards the costs of providing round the clock programming and to patients and staff at the Gosport War Memorial hospital.

Radio Haslar would like to say a Big Thank You to customers and staff at the Range for helping us to raise £296.27 at our collection.

This was our final event of 2009 and we would like to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Thank you for you continued support and we look forward to seeing you in 2010.

Thanks to the generosity of Gosport shoppers we managed to raise a grand total of £270.78

Radio Haslar and our band of merry collectors were at Morrisons, Gosport on Saturday 22nd August.

We raised a total of £242.80 and would like to say a Big Thank You to everyone who took the time to come and see us and put money in our tins.

A Big Thank You to everyone who came along and supported Radio Haslar, at ASDA on Saturday 6th June 2009

We have finished counting all the money and are proud to announce that we raised a grand total of £244.36

The continued support from ASDA shoppers and staff is very much appreciated

Radio Haslar was at The Range, Gunners Way, Fort Brockhurst on both Saturday 11th and Monday 13th April collecting much needed funds for the station.

Our little money counting elves have finished counting and have reported back that we raised a total of £459.65.

Radio Haslar's first event for 2009 was at the Morrisons supermarket, Walpole Road in Gosport on Saturday 28th March.

We had our merry team of collectors meeting and greeting shoppers as the entered and left the store, as well as our 'On-Air' team entertaining them with music and requests.

We have finished counting the pennies and are pleased to announce that we raised a grand total of £337.60.

Radio Haslar's final outside event of the year was at The Range, Gunners Way, Fort Brockhurst on Saturday 20th December.

We would like to say a Very Big Thank You to all those who gave so generously, a great day was had and we even had Father and Mary Christmas on hand to greet the children and adults alike.

Our little elves are still counting the pennies and as soon as they have finished we will announce the total here

The weather may have been bitterly cold but the generosity certainly wasn't, and for that we thank you.

On Sunday 9th November 2008 Radio Haslar broadcast the annual Remembrance Day Service 'Live' from the cenotaph at the Gosport War Memorial Hospital.

The broadcast began at 10.50am and was presented by Radio Haslar's HRT presenter Howard Hale.

This year marked 90 years of remembrance and listeners in both the Royal Hospital Haslar and Gosport War Memorial were able to listen to the full service.

Radio Haslar would like to say a BIG thank you to everyone who came along to our outside broadcast at Morrisons on Saturday 13th September.

A fun day was had by all and we raised a grand total of £277.00

On Saturday 16th August Radio Haslar broadcasted 'Live' fromthe ASDA Superstore, Dock Road in Gosport.

Radio Haslar would like to say a big thank you to everyone who contributed to this fantastic event.

We have finished counting those pennies and can announce that we raised a grand total of £348.24

On Saturday 14th June 2008 was at The Range, Gunners Way, Fort Brockhurst collecting much needed donations to keep the station running.

2008 is an expensive year for us at Radio Haslar with the building of our new studios at Bury House in Gosport due to the closure of RH Haslar, we will continue broadcasting at the Gosport War Memorial.

Radio Haslar would like to say a very big thank you to all those who gave so generously.

Many thanks to everyone who gave so generously to our collection at Asda, Gosport on Saturday 16th February 2008.

Thanks to your help we managed to raise a grand total of £281.29 which will go towards the cost of broadcasting programmes to the patients of the Royal Hospital Haslar and Gosport War Memorial Hospital.

We would like to say a big Thank You to everyone who came along to our Outside Broadcast and collection at Morrisons, Gosport on Saturday 15th September.

Everyone gave so generously and we managed to raise a grand total of £370.15.

Once again we would like to say thank you and we look forward to seeing you at our next event.

Radio Haslar will be out and about again on Saturday 8th September when we head off to the Hovershow 2007 at the Hovercraft Museum, Daedalus Slipway, Lee-on the Solent Seafront in Gosport.

This year sees a world record in the making as the first ever successful man powered hovercraft built by the University of London has returned and is ready to set the world record for the first human powered hovercraft

It will set the distance and speed record as the peddled power craft is the only craft of its type in the worlds and part of the man powered flight society

We will be re-broadcasting the days highlights to the patients of Haslar and the War Memorial on Sunday 9th so if you know somebody in hospital why not pop along and send them a request

Radio Haslar would like to say thank you to the Hovercraft Museum for their donation of £30.00

Radio Haslar was out and about on 7th July at Waitrose in Gosport with a 'Live' outside broadcast and collection.  We would like to say a big Thank You to everyone who helped and gave so generously, we raised a total of £414.41, which will go towards keeping Radio Haslar on air.

Radio Haslar would like to say a big thank you to all those who gave so generously at our collection in the High Street last weekend.

You helped us to raise £261.72 which will used to keep the station broadcasting to the patients of Haslar and the War Memorial Hospitals.

On Friday 30th March 2007 the MOD will finally withdraw from running the Royal Hospital Haslar and hand over day to day control to the NHS.  This is a very special day not only for Radio Haslar but also for everyone who has been connected with the hospital over the years, from staff, patients to the local residents of Gosport who really have taken Haslar to their hearts since its opening in 1753.

Radio Haslar will be covering the days events and broadcasting them to our listeners around the wards of the War Memorial and Haslar. A special programme schedule can be found here.

Please be advised that although the MOD are withdrawing from the day to day running of Haslar the hospital will remain open and continue to function as normal under control of Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust.  The MOD will still maintain the buildings and property and Radio Haslar will continue to broadcast as normal

Radio Haslar would like to say a big Thank You to customers and staff who gave so generously at our outside broadcast and collection at ASDA, Dock Road, Gosport on Saturday 17th March.  We broadcast 'Live' to the hospitals between 10am and 1pm and raised a grand total of £304.48 which helps towards the upkeep of the station.

Radio Haslar was at The Range Superstore, Gunners Way, Fort Brockhurst on Saturday 22nd December for our final event of 2006 so if you came along, Radio Haslar would like to say a big Thank You for your support.

We managed to raise a grand total of
£381.35. 

A good time was had and Santa had fun giving away some soft toys to the children.

This was our final outside broadcast for 2006 and we look forward to seeing you on the road again in 2007.

The Radio Haslar team were at the ASDA supermarket, Dock Road in Gosport on Saturday December 16th and we would like to say a big thank you if you came along.  We raised a total of £239.61

We provided a 'Live' outside broadcast back to the patients of The War Memorial and Haslar Hospitals and a fun time was had.

On Saturday 4th November Radio Haslar took to the road again, this time at the Waitrose Supermarket, Stoke Road in Gosport.

The outside broadcast team were again tweaking the transmitter and mounting the aerials to beam 'Live' programming back to the patients of Haslar and the War Memorial hospitals.

Radio Haslar would like to say a very big thank you to all those who gave so generously and helped us raise a total of £389.40.

Saturday 23rd September saw the Radio Haslar outside broadcast crew taking to the road again and ending up at the Morrisons supermarket, Walpole Road in Gosport.

A fun day was had as we broadcast live from outside the store and managed to raise a fantastic £353.35

Radio Haslar would like to express many thanks to those who came along to the event and those customers who gave so generously.

On Saturday 17th June 2006 the Radio Haslar team were at The Range, Gunners Way in Gosport and a huge success it was, along with a collection we played music and entertainment to staff and shoppers with our very own Steve France taking to the decks.  We raised a grand total of £265.20 and would like to say a Very Big Thank You to customers, staff and our own team for the kindness and generosity shown.
